Join Bishop Olmsted and the people of faith at St. Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, to celebrate the life and contributions of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his fight for civil rights in the United States. The guest homilist for the Mass is Rev. Manuel Bragg Williams, C.R., originally from Aliceville, AL. Fr. Williams has preached revivals and missions throughout the U.S. and has also lectured in the areas of Black Catholic spirituality and history, as well as fundraising and development. The celebration begins at 3 p.m. with musical preludes. Mass at 4 p.m. and a reception afterwards at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 400 E. Monroe St., Phoenix. All are welcome!
