Bishop Thomas Olmsted will lead a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of downtown Phoenix on Corpus Christi Sunday, June 6, beginning at 6 a.m. at Virginia G. Piper Plaza.
The Eucharistic Procession, in combination with the recent release of Bishop Olmsted’s Apostolic Exhortation “Veneremur Cernui,” continues the celebration of the Year of St. Joseph.
SCHEDULE
5:30 a.m.      Gather on Monroe Street in front of Virginia G. Piper Plaza
6 a.m.         Eucharistic Procession begins (approximately 3 miles)
6:30 – 7 a.m.   Prayer stop at Mater Misericordiæ for those who do not participate in the procession
8 a.m.         Return to Virginia G. Piper Plaza – Conclusion of Event

ROUTE & OTHER NOTES
The procession will begin and end on Monroe St between 3rd and 5th streets. We will step off promptly at 6 a.m., process around Mater Misericordiæ Parish, and return to Virginia G. Piper Plaza between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Morning Mass at St. Mary’s Basilica is not available after the procession due to another event.
The procession route is approximately 3 miles round trip. If you would like to participate one way, rather than the full 3 miles, please plan to gather at Virginia G. Piper Plaza for the 6 a.m. beginning or at Mater Misericordiæ at 6:30 a.m. for the second half of the procession.
Bring water and wear comfy shoes.
