The Most Rev. Thomas J. O’Brien, retired bishop of Phoenix, died at 6:11 a.m. on August 26, 2018. He served as the third bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix from January 18, 1982 until his retirement on June 17, 2003. He was 82.
