Essential Job Functions:

·         Plans, coordinates and implements weekly music in accordance with the Liturgical Documents and the Revised Roman Missal.

·         Recruits, trains, develops and motivates musicians to support weekend masses.

·         Provides music for Holy Days and special occasions, including Weddings and Funerals as scheduled.

·         Lead and teach the congregation Responsorial Psalm and new liturgical music prior to each mass as needed.

·         Develops a network for reaching out to new parishioners to continue to grow the music ministry.

·         Attend Liturgical Music Seminars as approved for the purpose of staying in line with Diocesan Guidelines.

·         Works in collaboration with other Parish staff in scheduling, visioning, planning and implementing activities, events and processes that overlaps into other areas of other staff responsibilities.

Other duties include maintain a music library, support special liturgies and ensure all choir members are in compliance with the Diocese of Phoenix Safe Environment Program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

·         Must be proficient in leading the congregation with keyboard and/or guitar accompaniment as well as vocals.

·         Have a basic understanding of mixer/sound system

·         Have basic understanding of video projector/computer in order to set up and project music for Mass

·         Work in collaboration with volunteers, parish staff and other musicians and choir.

Minimum Qualifications: Recent experience in parish music ministry, bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus; candidate must meet all employment regulations for employment in the Diocese of Phoenix.
