What is a Charitable Gift Annuity?

To establish a charitable gift annuity, you make a gift and in exchange receive a fixed annual dollar amount for life. The assets are responsibly managed by our partners at the Catholic Community Foundation, and any principal remaining at your death will then benefit any of the following choices:

  • Priests for Our Future: Seminarian and Lifelong Priestly Formation
  • Mental Health Ministry
  • Education: (Catholic Schools and Parish Catechetical)
  • Charity Development Appeal
  • Catholic Social Concerns: Pro-Life, Prison Ministry, Advocacy

Who are Charitable Gift Annuities for?

Charitable Gift Annuities are for those looking to make a legacy gift, while simultaneously setting up for themselves an immediate stream of income. The charitable gift annuity vehicle is typically attractive to individuals and couples aged 65 or older. If you do not meet this age requirement, you can reach out to us to learn about a deferred charitable gift annuity.

Tell me about the income stream and other benefits

You can fund your charitable gift annuity with a gift of $10,000 or more of cash, retirement assets, or appreciated assets. Once you let us know the size of your intended gift, and your personal details, we can provide you with an estimate of the income you would receive. The amount of the payments is primarily based on the age(s) of the beneficiary(ies). In addition to the stream of fixed payments, the gift will also generate a partial immediate charitable income-tax deduction.

Thank you for your generosity!
