All parish, mission, and school music directors and music ministry leaders are invited to attend this full-day gathering. The day will start with morning prayer and breakfast and conclude with a Mass with Bishop John Dolan.
Guest speakers:
John Romeri – John recently retired from Christ Cathedral in the Diocese of Orange in California. He served as the first Music Director for this newly formed Cathedral Parish and developed the cathedral’s music program. Previously, John served as Director of Liturgical Music for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Director of Music for the Cathedral Basilica of SS Peter and Paul (Philadelphia), and the Director of the Office of Sacred Music for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. John has served as the NPM National Board Chair and was the 2003 Pastoral Musician of the Year.
Rudy de Vos – Rudy has served as the Director of Music at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California, for 13 years and as conductor of the Oakland Diocesan Chorale. Previously he served as Organist and Director of Music at St. Anne’s church in Rochester, New York, and as a teaching assistant at the Eastman School of Music.
The day will include a choral reading session sponsored by MorningStar Music and a panel discussion on issues relating to parish choirs and church/clergy relations and communication.
