Pentecost is the birthday of the Church. Fifty days after Christ’s resurrection, the apostles were hiding in the upper room. With the sound of a mighty wind, tongues of flame appeared above them, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. With the descent of the Spirit, the Church is set into motion to bring about the Kingdom of God.
