Liturgy Coordinator/ MC

· Closely collaborate with musicians, clergy and volunteers regarding liturgical celebrations for an optimal experience as deemed by the pastor.
· Demonstrate spiritual leadership skills and good judgment.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with all segments of the community (parish, priests, religious, laity, Catholic ministries, civic leaders, and community agencies).
· Provide excellent service to all parishioners and the ability to work collaboratively.
· Maintain confidentiality at all times.
· Serves as Chief Sacristan and Master of Ceremonies; Directs, supervises and trains all other Sacristans and MCs.
· Work collaboratively with the clergy, Music Director, Sacrament Coordinators and other parish groups.
· Recruit, train, supervise, and assist liturgical volunteers, including altar servers, sacristans, lectors, extraordinary ministers of holy communion, ushers, greeters, supervise and manage (in conjunction with Deacon) the Ministers of Care outreach to the hospitalized and homebound.
· Ensure that the liturgical environment is properly prepared (flowers, candles, supplies, etc.) and are appropriate to the liturgical calendar and season.
· Ensure that vestments and all liturgical appointments, wardrobe, equipment and supplies are cleaned, stored and properly maintained.
· Coordinate major liturgical feasts such as Easter, Christmas, holy days of obligation; prepare and host outside clergy as necessary, including securing Letter of Suitability.
· Ensure that parish and diocesan guidelines regarding the Ethics and Integrity in the Ministry program are followed.
· Clean the holy water fonts and baptismal font weekly.
Plan and implement church liturgical (Art) environment: Work with volunteers to design and implement seasonal and special liturgy decorations for the church
· Performs any other job-related duties as required by the Pastor
· Salary based on experience.
Job Requirements:- 2-3 years of experience as a Sacristan or related position.
- Practicing Catholic with in-depth knowledge and training in Theology and Liturgy in the Roman Catholic tradition.
- Must have clear understanding and maintain requirements for sacred liturgy according with the documents of the Second Vatican Council
- Computer literacy, excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure; must initiate, be creative, and anticipate solutions to problems needs good judgment in emergency situations and when working with varied personalities and cultures; must be able to work under frequent interruptions.
