Ministry Services Coordinator and Scheduler
FulltimeUnder the supervision of the director, provides support to the department of Volunteers and Ministry Services and the Parish Administrator. In a thriving and busy parish, this role will assist the staff to coordinate, strengthen, and implement St. Bernadette’s mission to encounter the Living Christ.
Essential Job Functions
· Create, update, and maintain the parish and school facilities schedule and distribute weekly facility schedule. Provide monthly facility schedule updates at communications meetings.
· Oversee the adoration chapel application process, create key cards, monitor the adoration website, perform interviews, and maintain files.
· Assist the director with communications, including creation of the weekly parish bulletin and maintenance of parish website.
· Collaborate with parish staff regarding scheduling, planning, and implementing activities, events, and processes.
· Manage tasks related to office management, including filing, customer service and creating organizational systems. Oversee the cleaning of parish linens – drop off and pick up at cleaner.
· Order dry goods for the kitchen and parish activities and ensure that the donut cabinet is well stocked with supplies for Sunday donut services.
· Assist director with special events planning and help at events. Work occasional evenings and weekends to support parish events.
· Maintain positive and effective communication among various ministries and constituencies as the hands and feet of Christ at St. Bernadette.
· Oversee the Pastoral Minister of Care (PMoC) program. Match ministers of care with communicants and refer volunteers for training.
· Update Parish Data System (PDS) with volunteer service and ministry information.
· Assist director with safe environment compliance.
· In director’s absence, create and submit bulletin, weekly email and pulpit announcements.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
· Knowledge of Catholic Church teachings, observances, Diocesan Guidelines and Holy Days.
· Uses discernment, discretion, and empathy to effectively minister to parishioners and guests with a servant heart.
· Works independently as a team with parish staff.
· Must be able to plan, organize and handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively.
· High integrity, including maintenance of confidential and personal information.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva and Sign-up Genius.
· Called to protect compliant.
· Four years of experience in a similar role or equivalent.
