Bishop Olmsted will admit sixteen men into Candidacy for Holy Orders as the first official declaration by the Church that these men may have a vocation to Holy Orders as Permanent Deacons. Bishop Olmsted will institute the men of the 2022 diaconate formation cohort into the Ministry of Acolyte. This Ministry will set these men aside in a special way for service at the Altar to assist the Priest and Deacon during liturgical celebrations.
