Statement on the Release of Names by the Franciscan Friars - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix

Today the Franciscan Friars, Province of Saint Barbara released the names of Friars who have credible accusations of sexual abuse against a minor. The list of names is part of their review of records dating back to the 1940s, which includes the names of Franciscans who were assigned to Arizona at one point. The Diocese of Phoenix is reviewing the list to identify the Franciscans who served in the Diocese and are reported to have abuse allegations against them.

Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted and the Diocese of Phoenix take accusations of sexual misconduct seriously and urge anyone who has been a victim of abuse to call a local law enforcement agency.
