Statistics show that black youth are among the highest population of under-served members of society.  This can be seen from the disproportionate high school drop-out rates.  In 2019, African Americans accounted for only 15% of the undergraduate enrollment rates.  Because affordability is one of the major concerns for college-bound students, the Black Catholic Ministry provides scholarships for African Americans living in the Phoenix metropolitan area and are planning to attend a local Catholic school or any college within the United States.  We believe that one of the many ways to care for our youth and young adults is to remove or reduce distractions from them becoming a contributing member of society, and having a strong relationship with God.
