Description: FSL is a non-profit organization founded by the Diocese of Phoenix in 1974 that addresses the needs of people needing help living independently. The organization offers over 20 programs to meet the needs of adults aged 18 and above. FSL programs and services embrace and embody the spirit of St. John the Caregiver, whom Jesus Christ entrusted the care of his His Blessed Mother.
In Peoria, FSL manages the Senior Center and the Community Action Program (CAP), both located within one of the city’s community centers. The CAP office houses a Resource Center which is an important place for citizens of the area to access needed services and programs. The timely and courteous greeting of guests by a Receptionist is an essential first step to getting people the resources they need to meet their goals of independence.
The person filling this position will possess excellent interpersonal skills that demonstrate compassion, empathy, gentleness, and patience as they work with fellow neighbors who may be in distress. It requires knowledge of customer service principles, basic clerical functions, computer skills, use of telephone systems, and document processing, as this volunteer will be responsible for providing first-line customer service, composing routine correspondence, filing, faxing, scanning, copying, distributing mail, data entry and other like duties.
This is a position that can be shared between two or more volunteers. The Resource Center operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. More.
