Office for Archives

Preserving Arizona's Catholic Legacy

The Archives of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix serves as the final repository for the Diocese’s historical records. Our mission is to collect, maintain, and preserve records of enduring value which pertain to the Roman Catholic Church in Central and Northwest Arizona.

Sacramental Records Request

Requests must be made through the parish at which the sacrament was administered.

If you do not know the name of the parish where you received a sacrament (Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, etc.), but have done your due diligence in trying to locate the record, we can assist you in locating this record. Please click on the button below to fill out the request form.

Digital Collections

Historical Diocese of Phoenix publications from 1971-1999 have been digitized and are available online through the Catholic News Archive.

The Archives Office is erected in accordance with Canon 482, which invests the Chancellor with responsibility for the archives.

The Diocese of Phoenix Archives is a private institutional repository, whose primary duty is to serve the bishop, curial offices and Catholic parishes, and access is generally limited to such uses. On rare occasions, select portions of the archival collections may be made available to researchers, as permitted by canon law, civil law, and privacy considerations, and subject to approval by the chancellor, which approval may be withheld in the chancellor’s sole and absolute discretion.
