In the Eucharist, Catholic married couples meet the one who is the source of their marriage. “In this sacrifice of the new and eternal covenant, Christian spouses encounter the source from which their own marriage covenant flows, is interiorly structured and continuously renewed.”
The image of God is the married couple: the man and the woman; not only the man, not only the woman, but both of them together. This is the image of God: love, God’s covenant with us is represented in that covenant between man and woman. And this is very beautiful!
As a family, one of our favorite summer activities is swimming in our pool. Having an in-ground pool within a few steps of our back door has been a sweet blessing. We splash, play, relax, and bond.
