Join us for the Diocese of Phoenix Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation!

We will embark on a prayerful journey through nature to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, one of our diocese’s Jubilee Year pilgrimage sites. 

Registration is Required – Opens September 15th

DATE: November 15, 2025

LOCATION: Sedona, AZ

COST: The cost of the pilgrimage is $40 which includes lunch and transportation through Sedona.

SCHEDULE: *Please note that all times are subject to adjustment based on traffic and walking times.* 

  • 10am- Meet at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Sedona (180 St John Vianney Ln, Sedona, AZ 86336). Please note that all participants are responsible for transportation to/from St. John Vianney at the beginning and end of the event.
  • All cars should park in the church parking lot and we will take a shuttle to the Little Horse Trailhead (Little Horse Trailhead, Sedona, AZ 86336)
  • 10:30am- Begin pilgrimage walk  (Little Horse Trailhead, Sedona, AZ 86336)
  • 1pm: Mass at the Chapel of the Holy Cross (780 Chapel Rd, Sedona, AZ 86336)
  • 2pm: Return to St. John Vianney Catholic Church for lunch

WALKING PATH:

Please note that this path is considered moderate with approximately a total of 100 feet of elevation gain throughout the trail with several ascents and descents. It is 2.3 miles from the Little Horse Trailhead to the doors at the Chapel of the Holy Cross. During the pilgrimage we will stop for prayer and meditation along the trail. You can expect about 2 hours spent on the trial.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Hiking clothes (please check the weather to plan accordingly)
  • Comfortable shoes with good grip
  • Sunscreen/ hat
  • Plenty of water and snacks
