The Bishop’s Office

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love" (John 15:9)

Bishop John P. Dolan is the spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. He provides for the spiritual needs of the priests, deacons, women and men religious and people of the diocese. His office is responsible for overseeing the ministries, activities and programs of the Diocese of Phoenix.

Through the Bishop’s Office, Bishop Dolan shepherds the people of the diocese with the assistance of Most Rev. Peter Dai Bui, Auxiliary Bishop Eduardo A. Nevares, Bishop Emeritus Thomas J. Olmsted, and his priests, who lead the parishes and ministries under the bishop’s guidance and leadership. Together they work to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and to help the faithful encounter the living Christ.

Bishop Dolan's Seven Year Pastoral Plan

In October 2024, Bishop John Dolan, the fifth Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, announced his historic seven-year Pastoral Plan on evangelization. Inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the Diocese of Phoenix, the plan began in January 2025 and leads up to December 2031— the 500th anniversary of Our Lady of Guadalupe appearing to St. Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill in modern day Mexico City.
