Catholic School Pilot Program

Mental Health Ministry

In a spirit of unity and compassion, the Office of Mental Health Ministry, the Catholic Schools Office, and Catholic Community Services are committed to accompanying students with mental health needs in a way that is Catholic, sustainable, ethical, and deeply meaningful.

Rooted in the Gospel and the Church’s mission to uphold human dignity, this collaboration seeks to ensure that every student is seen, heard, and supported. Catholic education forms compassionate yet judicious leaders, prepared to meet the complexities of a dynamic and ever-changing world. By integrating comprehensive mental health services into our school communities, we empower students with the tools they need to:

  • Shape their futures with confidence and resilience
  • Become their best selves-spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually
  • Promote the common good and uphold the dignity of every person

Together, we are building a culture of care that reflects the heart of Christ and the mission of the Church.

How It Works

We are serving 8 different Catholic Schools: St. Agnes, Most Holy Trinity, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glendale, St. Jerome, St. Louis the King, St. John Vianney, St. Catherine, and Bourgade. The schools are divided into two clusters. We contract with Catholic Charities Community Services to provide each school with an intern and each cluster with a therapist. The therapists use a comprehensive approach to mental health that includes both the clinical aspect as well as supportive services.
