Office for Clergy

Supporting priests and deacons with pastoral care, ongoing formation, and ministry guidance.

The Vicar for Clergy in the Diocese of Phoenix plays a vital role in supporting the bishop by nurturing the well-being of priests and deacons. This includes addressing the spiritual, physical, and psychological health needs of clergy, coordinating opportunities for growth through continuing education programs, retreats, convocations, clergy days, days of recollection, and sabbaticals, and acting on behalf of the bishop in matters of priest personnel.

Bishop Dolan is pleased to announce he has made the following priestly appointments. May God bless them and those they will serve.

Faculties Handbook

This document consists of a presentation of those faculties (pagellae) granted to priests and deacons by law (ipso iure) and those delegated to them by the diocesan bishop. They extend to an ordained >minister the ability to perform certain functions other than what is granted at ordination.

In Memoriam

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord. And let the perpetual light shine upon them.”

Letters of Suitability

All priests, whether active or retired, must submit a Letter of Suitability to minister outside their home diocese. This ensures compliance with Safe Environment Training (SET) and verifies good standing. To avoid delays, please complete the form at least four weeks before your event. For urgent requests or questions, contact the Vicar for Clergy for assistance.
